Present of Jazz celebrates the Centennial calendar year of Sarah Vaughan with a functionality of her tunes by Denver vocalist Myra Warren on Sunday, March 24 at 6:30 p.m.
Warren has a stunningly wonderful voice that resonates with heat and comprehension of lyrics and melody. Her career commenced in the mid-80s in Denvers 5 Points. She has executed with Ellyn Rucker and pianist Eric Gunnison, along with performances at the 5 Factors Jazz Competition, the Estes Park Jazz Festival, and the Town Park Jazz Festival. Myra is the featured band singer in the Netflix motion picture Our Souls At Night, which premiered at the Venice Film Competition in 2017, singing “What A Variance A Day Produced in a scene filmed at Denvers Brown Palace Resort. Myra is presently the vocalist with Purnell Steen and the 5 Points Ambassadors.
Sarah Vaughans performances, even into her 60s, have been outstanding. Her multi-octave selection, with its swooping highs and sensual lows, and the youthful suppleness of her voice shaded by a luscious timbre and executed with intense command, all remained intact.
